Fondant Beginners Class


Don’t know how to make fail-proof fondant, let alone cover a cake neatly in fondant? Then this class is for you.

Let’s show you how to make your own Fondant & cover and decorate your Cake confidently with NEAT/ SHARP edges.

Totally “hands-on class”.

 This course is informative, fun and very rewarding.

Students will be given all our recipes for creating all the mediums to be used in the class. Preparing the following decorative mediums:

  • Fondant,
  • Gum paste,
  • 50/50
  • Piping gel

Course content.

1. Cut-outs for applied designs, texturing, crimping, embossing.

2. Stacking, filling & professional cake leveling, {You will not need a cake leveler anymore with this technique}.

3. Scrappling and crumb-coating. Our secret for SHARP edges

4. Covering a cake with fondant with Sharp edges, Tips, and trick that guarantee straight edges.

5. Creating the Marble effect on your fondant

6. Finishing a cake neatly with edible Wafer-paper flowers.



Location: Dainty Affairs Bakery Studio.{Omole phase 2, Ikeja}.

Duration: 2 days

TIME: 10.00am- 5.00pm

Skill level: INTERMEDIATE. *

Please note: Must know how to bake and cover a cake with butter icing or take our recommended Beginners baking and Decorating class. Details HERE


Students are to bring along the following:

  • 8″ round vanilla cake..3 layers with each layer baked as 2inches high.
  • 12″ Cake Board
  • Rolling Pin
  • Wheel Cutter
  • A pair of Fondant smoothers
  • A long ruler. Preferably 18″ long
  • A 12″ Cake Box to pack your Beautifully finished Cake.


Other Tools & Ingredients Class used in the Class: The Dainty Affairs Bakery Academy will provide students with All the required ingredients & BASIC tools  TO BE USED during this course.
